Portraits
Process
1. Initial Consultation with client: In this first meeting, we discuss the visual concept for the portrait: Formal or candid, indoor or outdoor setting, clothing options, size and format for the finished painting.
2. Photographic Reference: To help express my own sensitivities to a subject, I like to photograph my own reference. Of course, if someone has their own photographic reference that they wish me to work from, that is perfectly acceptable.
3. Optional, live painting session (1hr - 1 1/2hrs.): This stage helps record true color which cannot be fully obtained in photography. This session may be bypassed, depending on the age and time constraints of the model/client.
Pricing
Factors that contribute to pricing are:
a) Formal portrait vs. a Candid portrait.
b) Size of the finished painting.
